Catholic Life

Today we are celebrating St Therese of Lisieux Feast Day. We joined together for a liturgy to learn about what made her so special even though she was an ordinary person just like you and me.

This afternoon we celebrated our word of the week liturgy linked to Dialogue. Jesus calls us to engage in dialogue with those who are different from us. We should be open to learning from others and often the first step is to enter into dialogue.

Thank you to all members of our school family who donated bottles for our stall at the Summer Fayre later this month. It’s great to see our school, families and parish working together. #community

Thank you Year 6 who led us in a liturgy on the theme of journey. We reflected on the different ways we have reflected in fasting, prayer & almsgiving during this season, shared some of your prayers from your visit to @NDCYS  & reminded us of Jesus’ final journey to the cross.

The children in Blessed Cyprian Tansi house enjoyed celebrating their feast day with joining the parish for Mass this morning. You all look amazing showing off your house colour.

Well done to the children from @olseacademy and @SacredHeartOLOL  who represented their schools at the PACT carol service this evening led by @BishopPMcKinney  We are very proud of you. #faithinaction

Thank you to everyone who supported our Christmas Fayre this afternoon. It was a lovely community event. Congratulations to the winners of how many sweets in a jar? and name the penguin. It was also lovely to see the children visiting the tearoom too.

A fantastic Mass this morning to celebrate the feast of Christ the King. It was lovely to see so many children from school leading us in serving, scripture, prayer, reflection and song. You really are the future builder’s of God’s Kingdom.

Key Stage 2 wore odd socks today to mark the beginning of Anti-bullying Week. During Assembly, we talked about protected characteristics & how God created us as unique individuals, we are all different & we are all special. We also shared the message of consent and no means no.

EYFS and Key Stage 1 have started Anti-Bullying Week by wearing odd socks to show it is okay to be different. During Assembly this morning we talked about the different types of bullying and what we must do if we feel scared or uncomfortable. #keepingsafe
