Admissions

The Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust is the admission authority for all the schools within the Trust and is responsible for determining the admissions policy. On behalf of the Trust, the admissions are coordinated by the relevant Local Authority. All decisions relating to admission applications will be taken by the school’s Local Governing Body.

Applying for a school place

All applications are coordinated through Nottingham City Council. Please ring the Nottingham City Council admissions team on 0115 8415568 to find out more about the admissions process.

Please ensure that you follow BOTH steps below, this will avoid any delay in your application for a place at our school:

Step 1:

If you are applying for a place and your child is a baptised Catholic, you MUST download and complete this Supplementary Form (they are also available from the school office).

You must also provide a copy of your child’s baptism certificate and return these documents to the school office before the closing date. Without this additional information, we cannot class your child as a Catholic.

Step 2:

Complete the registration and admissions form on the Nottingham City Council website.

You can find out more about the Diocese of Nottingham Education Service.

First Admissions 2025/2026

Applications are accepted from November 2024 –  January 2025 for first admission (Reception) and transfer from infant to junior/primary education.

You will be notified in April 2025 if you have been given a school place.

Waiting lists

Parents whose children have not been offered a place at a school in the normal admissions round will be added to the school’s waiting list unless they have been offered a place at a higher preference school. The list will remain open until the end of the academic application year.  If a parent wishes their child to remain on the waiting list, they must re-apply each academic year.  The local authority manages the waiting list for Our Lady & St Edward Catholic Voluntary Academy.

In-year applications

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.  An application should be made to Nottingham City Council by completing the LA Common Application Form https://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/inyearadmissions and following the instructions on the LA website. If applying for a place on faith grounds you will also need to complete a Supplementary Information, Form and return this to admin@olseacademy.org.uk.

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 2025-2026, will be applied.

Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.

If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list.  Please see the admission arrangements for more details.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible.  Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.

You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.
